He is an associate member of PEN USA; has attended writing workshops including the Squaw Valley Community of Writers’ Conference (2001), Margo Perin’s two-week writing workshop in Vagliagli, Italy (1999), novelist Molly Giles’ one-day writing workshop in Marin (1996), and novelist Anne Lamott’s weekly writing workshops in Marin (1995); and, after a long hiatus, is once again submitting freelance articles to publications throughout the United States.
